Supply chain DUE Diligence Act Checklist

The German Supply Chain Compliance Act was promulgated on July 22, 2021 and comes into force on January 1, 2023.

The new law obliges German companies to take precautions against human rights violations and environmental damages throughout their supply chains, with sanctions up to 2% of the global group turnover.

In Netherlands there is already a parliamentary proposal on responsible and sustainable business conduct which is going to strengthen the provisions of the Child Labour Due Diligence law of 2019.

Furthermore on 10 March 2021, the European Parliament approved an outline proposal for the EU Directive on Mandatory Human Rights, Environmental and Good Governance Due Diligence, we expect the EU parliament to approve this new legislation in 2022.
